Welcome to Alaska's wildlife!

In Alaska, we have varied wildlife, including some of the largest predators in the world.  Killer whales, polar bears & brown bears all call Alaska home.

In the city of Anchorage, you will find lots of moose, black & brown bears, lynx, fox, coyote, ermine, dall sheep, bald eagles, gyrfalcons, peregrine falcons, great horned owls, ducks, geese and much more!  Right now I have merlin falcons nesting in my front yard.  The black bear in this photo was in my yard, just on the other side of the fence.

Farther north are bison, musk ox, polar bears, caribou and other interesting animals.  Alaska is also home to many species of birds, and birdwatchers from around the world visit to see some of our unique feathered friends.

Here is a mother moose with twins walking along my driveway.

Bald eagles are a common site in Anchorage. Brown bears and the smaller black bears are becoming more common in the city of Anchorage.

A small Alaska predator, the ermine Common Loon A bull moose walking near an Anchorage, Alaska subdivision

We have small predators too...This ermine was raiding my garbage.  He gave me time to take a couple of photos before running off.

Alaska is home to several types of loons.  These common loons are found on lakes around Anchorage & Wasilla. This large moose was walking through an East Anchorage subdivision.

Let me know if you have any good Alaskan wildlife photos you'd like me to share with my website visitors.  I'd love to post them on this page!
